Life is not always filled with high energy and exciting circumstances. At time, we find ourselves falling into comfortable lulls of consistency and low activity. However, these developments are not always a result of natural circumstances. When we feel as though we have stagnated in life, it is oftentimes a direct result of our own distractions and lack of perspective when looking towards the future. This may lead to bouts of depression, hopelessness, and a feeling of misdirection and lack of insight into the future. 

Now is the time for you to reevaluate why you feel as though you have seen very little progress or excitement lately. Have you shied away from pursuing change that would improve your circumstances? This may be due to the fear of failure, nervousness in new environments, or the lack of motivation to put in the proper amount of effort. Use this as an opportunity to reignite your passions and motivations; you have the power to deliver yourself to a better state of being. 

Begin looking for a new job, reach out to a friend whose company you’ve been missing lately, or begin taking steps to end a toxic relationship that has been holding you back. As time goes on, you will begin to find your mood improving; hope will replace hopelessness, excitement will overtake boredom, and satisfaction will begin to fill the gaps left by a lack of fulfilment.

Your romantic life has been stagnant as of late. Perhaps the relationship that you have with your partner has failed to see any excitement; frankly, you’re starting to get bored. If you are not currently in a romantic relationship, you may have found yourself frustrated in your life as a single individual. 

No matter your specific situation, now is the time for you to add a little spice to your current romantic life. Talk to your partner about going on a new adventure together. This may include a vacation, the incorporation of regular date nights, or even a fun new development in the bedroom. This does not mean that you have to rewrite your entire relationship; instead, take this as an opportunity to strengthen your connection by embarking on new endeavors together. 

If you are single and frustrated by the lack of a partner, this may be a sign that your stagnation is a direct result of a lack of investment in the search for romance. Are you really ready to commit to the relationship that you so desire? If the answer is yes, then this is a sign that it is time to start putting yourself out there more than you have been. While it is easy to be shy around new people, you will never find new people if you are too nervous to meet them. 

Take some time to breathe and relax; even if you don’t find Prince Charming, you may find invaluable friendships that last for a lifetime. If you are not prepared to commit yourself to a new relationship, then there is no need to attack yourself for the lack of a partner. Instead, take this as an opportunity to work on yourself and improve your self esteem; after all, there is nothing more attractive than confidence!

CUPS. FOUR.

You may have also seen a similar development in your professional life. Perhaps you’ve found yourself stuck in a dead end job that offers very little in the ways of satisfaction and fulfilment. If you are unemployed, depression may have been given the chance to creep in as a result of a lack of new opportunities. In order to break yourself out of this rut, it is time to turn your restlessness and dissatisfaction into motivation to pursue change. 

As American musician Chuck Schuldiner said, “There are no limits, you are only limited by however far you want to be limited.” What can you do to reevaluate your current situation? Have you been unmotivated at work, leading to underperformance and a lack of recognition from your superiors? Have you hesitated to apply for new positions out of a fear of the application and hiring process? Now is the time to acknowledge these limitations and break them apart. 

Oftentimes, you will find that the one responsible for placing them is none other than yourself. Because of this, there is no person that is better equipped to rewrite these restrictions than you.

In order to overcome any obstacle, the first step is to acknowledge that the obstacle exists. When The 4 of Cups appears in the reversed position, it is a sign that you still have yet to identify the obstacle that are keeping you from progressing in life.

It is not always easy to admit when there is something that you are struggling with, as it seems like an insurmountable issue to address on your own. However, you will not see any significant change until you are able to identify the source of your stagnation. This isn’t something that you need to go through on your own; reach out to friends, family, professionals, and the other members of your support system in order to begin fighting back against a lack of motivation and enthusiasm that stems from deeper issues. 

Chances are, this will not be a process that happens overnight, and it may take some time before you are able to completely move on from the issues that you are currently struggling with. Have hope; this is just the first step! The road will not always be easy, but it will deliver you to a state of being that leaves you far more satisfied with your life and its achievements. At the same time, you will also become acquainted with deeper parts of yourself that may have been previously inaccessible. 

Use this as an opportunity to get to know yourself on a far more intimate level; when your mind and body reach a state of harmony, you will find yourself capable of achieving most anything that you put your mind to.
