The Light of Truth

Finding the line where reality is separated from illusion is one of the most difficult things that we will face in life. This does not only mean being able to identify and disprove the lies that we are told by others, it is also means being able to live by our inner truth. As we are influenced by the pressures of society, it is easy to allow our true selves to be replaced by a carefully constructed façade.

We hide the most intimate aspects of our personality, take up characteristics that are considered desirable, and interact with others so as to fill the role that we believe we have amongst the public. However, this front that we put on is just that: a front. It is oftentimes not even close to our authentic self, and makes it incredibly difficult to be ourselves without anxiety over being rejected.

The Sun reminds you of your inner radiance, and encourages you to let your true self shine without any fear of the reaction you may receive from others. Regardless of who you are, or where you are in the world, we are all able to look up into the sky to see the brilliant sun smiling back at us. This is the same state of being that The Sun encourages us to take up; no matter who we are with or what kind of situation we are in, we should allow our true nature to present itself unapologetically. Ignore any criticism that may come your way, and instead focus on the unique glow that emanates from your authentic self.

Forget the façade you have constructed and the rules you may have imposed on yourself in regards to social interaction; in truth, there is no set way that you should behave around others, and you are imposing laws upon yourself that are highly subjective and oftentimes completely untrue.

A good romantic partner is someone who accepts and compliments your true personality, not someone who asks you to change yourself in order to please them. They are someone that we should be able to be our true selves around.

Many tend to put on a more attractive façade when looking for a potential romantic partner, thus leading them to start new relationships on an insincere not. This can lead to trouble farther on down the road; even the strongest walls can’t last forever. Instead, it is far more healthy to put an honest foot forward when on the hunt for romance. Not only will you find partners that mesh better with your true personality, but you will also find that the relationships you do make are far more comfortable and genuine.

In your quest for true romance, you have allowed the expectations of others to shape the way that you present yourself. Perhaps you have forced yourself to fit a certain standard of beauty so as to appear conventionally attractive to potential partners. Or maybe you are already in a relationship, but you have found yourself constantly struggling to do things and change your appearance so as to meet your partner’s standards.

This is sign for you to let go of the opinions of others; if someone is truly meant to be in a relationship with you, it is because they want the authentic you. Have faith that you are good enough, and there is nothing wrong with the way that you naturally are. Focus on finding someone that compliments your true personality, instead of someone who expects you to be something that you’re not.

NINETEEN. THE SUN

The naked child mounted on a white horse and displaying a red standard has been mentioned already as the better symbolism connected with this card. It is the destiny of the Supernatural East and the great and holy light which goes before the endless procession of humanity, coming out from the walled garden of the sensitive life and passing on the journey home. The card signifies, therefore, the transit from the manifest light of this world, represented by the glorious sun of earth, to the light of the world to come, which goes before aspiration and is typified by the heart of a child.

But the last allusion is again the key to a different form or aspect of the symbolism. The sun is that of consciousness in the spirit—the direct as the antithesis of the reflected light. The characteristic type of humanity has become a little child therein—a child in the sense of simplicity and innocence in the sense of wisdom. In that simplicity, he bears the seal of Nature and of Art; in that innocence, he signifies the restored world. When the self-knowing spirit has dawned in the consciousness above the natural mind, that mind in its renewal leads forth the animal nature in a state of perfect conformity.

You don’t have to be naturally gifted to excel in your field of work. Many of the greatest masters started as novices, and had to work incredibly hard to make it to the top of their field. Once you have started to gain an intimate knowledge in your specific profession, you may begin to find that intuition and innovation come much easier to you. This is largely due to a much improved capability of predicting possible outcomes, as well as your hard-earned knack for making logical decisions. Your inner brilliance grows with every day, and steadily becomes more and more helpful as you put it to practice.

Now is the time for you to listen to your intuitive self about work-related decisions, and allow yourself to be guided by the experience you have gained thus far. Don’t worry about the opinions of others; even if they tell you that a certain course of action may be a bad idea, have faith that your wisdom and experience will guide you towards success. If there is a particular field of work that you have dreamed of getting involved with, now is the time to make the first move in pursuing that dream. This may mean going back to school, getting specially trained or certified, or even taking steps towards starting your own business. Allow yourself to be guided by your own truth, and pursue the success that allows your inner wisdom to reach its full potential.

Once we are able to embrace our inner truth, we will be far better equipped to share our enlightenment with others. When The Sun appears in the reversed position, it may be a sign that now is the time to share the lessons you have learned with others, teaching them how to reach a more authentic state of being. Perhaps there is someone close to you that you have seen struggling with their sense of self lately; take this as a sign that they have much to learn from your wisdom.

Reach out and offer them assurance that their authentic self is beautiful and valuable, even if they feel invalidated by others. Allow your light to beat back the shadows that may be plaguing those around you.

The Sun is a very positive tarot card, commonly meaning joy and vitality.  This card symbolizes the forces in the world coming together to create something great in the near future. The Sun is a tremendous card for positivity, thus is a YES card.
