React Quickly and Without Hesitation

None of us can slow time for any reason. Even when we want nothing more than an extra moment to think, it can feel like we are constantly being pushed to keep going. This is the natural order of things, and there are times in life where different reactions to this trend are more appropriate than others. Sometimes it is best to force ourselves to slow down, appreciating the little things as they come instead of constantly struggling to get ahead of the flow of time. However, now is not one of those times. You are on the precipice of a great decision, and you don’t have time to think. Hesitation and overthinking are your greatest enemies; now is a time of action and commitment. Chances are, this great decision is not unexpected. You have had a significant amount of time to contemplate every possible course of action, even if you don’t want to admit it. There is no more time for you to ready yourself, as it is time for you to move forward with your plan of action without delay. Don’t let yourself get distracted by the voices of others than may seek to sow the seeds of doubt in your mind, and have confidence in the fact that you are making the most well-informed decision based on your knowledge of the situation at hand. You don’t need the permission of those around you to do what you believe to be best given the circumstances. Looking back on this moment in the future, you will find that your ability to think on your toes and make rapid decisions has lead you exactly where you need to be in order to keep moving forward at a much more comfortable place.

Most careers are going to have some sort of competition amongst people in the same field. While this is normal and somewhat healthy, when pushed to the extreme, it can serve to create and incredibly toxic work environment. Sometimes, you may find competition in places where it doesn’t belong, such as on a team of coworkers that are meant to all be working together towards a common goal. In order to properly cope with this competitive attitude, many tend to adopt a similarly aggressive attitude. Part of being aggressive in this way is being able to make quick and strategic moves based on the actions of your opponents; many times, you won’t have enough time to contemplate your plan of action before you are forced to formulate a response. In these situations, it is important that you are able to move and adapt quickly while simultaneously keeping a clear vision of your ultimate goals. Someone that you see as an opponent in the workplace may be on the verge of making a drastic move; one that you will have to think on your feet to counter. Perhaps they are thinking of spreading a nasty rumor about you amongst your coworkers, one that could severely damage your reputation should it reach your supervisors. Or perhaps a competing business owner is about to introduce a new product that is high in demand; something that you don’t offer through your business. It is important that you recognize this move right away so as to properly react in a way that both minimizes the potential damage and maximizes your potential gain. Find a way to prove that this coworker is spreading a false rumor and report it to management before they have a chance to hear it on their own. Pay close attention to and keep up with the current trends so that no matter how the market shifts, you have a solution that is one step ahead of the competition. By watching and paying close attention to even the smallest of signals, you will be able to counter a move before it has even been properly carried out. This does not necessarily mean that you should be paranoid; in many cases, your competitor may not be doing anything that is meant to be a personal attack on you or your business. Instead, take this as a sign to keep on your toes and stay alert.

Having to make a quick decision does not necessarily mean that you should throw all logic and reason to the wind. When The 6 of Swords appears in the reversed position, it may be a sign that you are moving forward without a clear vision of the goal that you wish to accomplish. While this does not mean that you should hold yourself back from acting in a timely manner, you may need to reconsider the motivations that are influencing your decision making. Move forward with focus and conviction, as that will give you the mental fortitude to keep working towards your ultimate goal. You may need to make some major decisions very quickly, but this doesn’t mean that you should be any less dedicated to seeing them through to the end.
