Once we start down any new path in life, we will find that a wealth of potential avenues will be opened to us. When compared to choosing a first step, the choice of what path to follow is easily a close second in terms of difficulty. Perhaps you are contemplating a multitude of potential solutions to a problem at hand, but aren’t sure which option will solve the most issues with minimal complications. Or maybe you are starting to doubt whether or not you should have ever embarked on this past in the first place, and are considering backtracking. Oftentimes, this indecisiveness is caused by a lack of insight into the outcomes that a certain course of action will bring about. When we are afraid of what the future may hold, we allow ourselves to stagnate and eventually become deadlocked. Now is the time for you to weigh each of the options in front of you a little more carefully. Weed out the worst options first, and work your way backwards until you are only looking at a few of your best choices. Keep your eyes on the situation at hand and look for any continuities between your current circumstances and the potential solutions that you are considering. Does one of them just hide the symptoms of the issue instead of actually addressing their underlying causes? Is there one that sets the bar unrealistically high, and may be a little too dependent on an otherwise risky endeavor? Be realistic, and don’t be afraid to admit that something is a bad plan; oftentimes, in order to define what we should do, we must first establish what it is that we shouldn’t do. Remember that there is no such thing as a perfect game plan, and you will always need to prepare for the possibility of failure. Just because you decide on a certain plan now does not mean that you will be obligated to continue going through with it even if you find later on down the road that it wasn’t your best choice. This decision will not be a permanent commitment, but its performance will give you a much better idea of how to handle the situation as it progresses further.

Complications in our romantic lives can be particularly tricky to address. Because we all tend to dive headfirst into romance with the intention that this relationship will last long into the future, it can be incredibly difficult to make decisions that will have long-lasting repercussions. The potential results of our actions swirl around in our minds, causing a great deal of anxiety over choosing the best option. After all, we aren’t going to be the only one left dealing with the consequences, whether they be positive or negative. It can be incredibly difficult to find the perfect balance between prioritizing our own interests and the collective interests of our current romantic relationship in a way that actually produces positive results for the both of us. This may lead us to inaction and stagnation in a toxic situation as we are too afraid to make any concrete decision on how to solve the issue at hand. While you may be trying to find the best solution for the both of you, this does not mean that you should push your personal interests to the side. In all reality, your personal health and wellness is always going to be more important than maintaining a relationship. Once you are certain that you will be staying true to your own individual concerns, then you will be able to start considering options that will strengthen your relationship with your partner. However, it is also important to remember that you can never make major decisions on behalf of someone else, and they must be willing to work with you in order to solve the issue at hand. Sit down and have a serious conversation with your partner about your future together, and earnestly listen to their concerns. Focus on working together as a unit to make the decision that works best for both of you, as opposed to simply allowing yourselves to suffer under current circumstances.

However, asserting yourself in the workplace and making concrete decisions on behalf of your own wellbeing can be difficult, especially if it stands to greatly change your economic situation. Out of fear of losing your job or potentially losing future opportunities, it can be easy to hold off on making important decisions. Now is the time for you to prioritize your own interests over that of your employer, even if this means making a decision that may cause some temporary friction in the workplace. While you shouldn’t necessarily charge forward with only your own benefit it mind, this does mean that it may be time to make a tough decision in regards to how your employer is allowing you to be treated. Don’t be afraid to set boundaries and remind your employer that you are a human just as much as they are. Consider changing your availability to better suit your needs, bringing issues that you may be having with coworkers to higher management, or even looking for new employment in extreme circumstances. Something has to change; remaining in your current situation will only cause more problems down the road. Try to be reasonable and carefully consider your options, but don’t allow yourself to be exploited or abused so as to directly benefit others.

Trying to make a difficult decision on your own can feel like you’re forcing yourself to run in circles, making no real progress in finding the best solution. When The 2 of Wands appears in the reversed position, it may be a sign that it is time to seek external guidance, as it will offer a new perspective that you haven’t yet considered. Bring the issue at hand to someone that you truly trust, and let them in on the various possible solutions that you have been considering. This person may be a significant other, a friend, family member, or even a professional; whoever you choose, be careful not to place too much value on the words of someone who may have invested interest in one decision or another. Focus on finding someone that cares far more about your health and happiness, as opposed to what they may stand to gain from the situation.
