Know What Tools You Are Working With

Part of any successful act of teamwork is determining what each of you is able to bring to the table. This may be intelligence, skills, or even material possessions and tools that will assist you in achieving your collective goal. Taking time to get everyone up to date with the tools that you are working with will give the entire team the ability to do their tasks to the best of their abilities, as well as increase the chance of long term success. There are times where one team member may not know that another member has a particular skill or tool, and would have struggled to achieve a certain task without any help or guidance. By taking the time to properly understand what the whole group is working with, your work will go much faster and be of a much higher quality.

You may have recently noticed that you are working with others far more than you usually do. However, the communication amongst your team members has been notably lacking; you frequently run into a situation where one or more participants was not totally on the same page as everyone else, and this has resulted in confusion and decreased productivity. In order to optimize your ability to efficiently work as a team, it is vital for you to make sure that everyone understands exactly what is going on, what they need to do, and what they have in order to do it. 

This may create the need to have a group-wide meeting, or you may need to have an individual conversation with these people in order to make sure they are fully included. However, this does not mean that you should be openly upset with them. There are a variety of reasons that they may not have been 100% dedicated to the group lately; they may have serious issues going on in their personal life, or they may be going through a particularly rough patch in their own personal endeavors. Instead, use this as an opportunity to show them that they are a vital member of the team, and deserve to be involved in both the work and the rewards of the group’s efforts.

We all know that relationships are a team effort, after all, it takes two to tango. Each partner must be willing to give the other the amount of love and support that they need, as well as any additional assistance that it is appropriate to provide. This isn’t always the easiest to do; sometimes they may openly resist your help, claiming that there is nothing you can do to help them. 

On the other hand, they may also ask you for things that you are not exactly comfortable with providing. When a boundary is violated, it is important to make sure that your partner is aware of your personal boundaries. On the other hand, they are still your partner. Part of dedicating your lives to each other is being able to handle the baggage that comes with unifying your souls.

If you are currently in a relationship, you may have recently noticed that your partner has not been as invested in your relationship as you have been. They may be dragging their feet on advancing the relationship to the next level, or may otherwise be procrastinating on important developments that you are ready to begin moving on. This can be a tricky situation to address; you still want to see your relationship move forward, but you may be worried that your enthusiasm will only serve to drive them further away. Now is the time for you to clearly communicate to your partner what it is that you hope to get out of this relationship. 

Are you considering marriage and children? Perhaps the relationship is much fresher, and you are ready to make it known to your friends an family members. These are things that must be done as a team, and only with proper communication. Otherwise, should you make a move without their knowledge or demand developments that they are not ready for, you run the risk of putting the whole relationship in jeopardy. If they are totally unwilling to provide you with the things that you need and want, are you sure that they are someone you want to spend your life with?

Most of the time, your work will be done with a group of people. This group can either be very small or immeasurably large; it all depends on what company you work for an what industry you are a member of. No matter the size of the team, it is vital that each member have an understanding of what comes as a result of being a part of said team. Are there certain expectations that are placed upon them to achieve certain tasks on a regular basis? 

On the other hand, are there benefits that they may not be aware that they are receiving? While these are oftentimes subjects that are heavily discussed during the hiring process, this does not mean that they should be completely forgotten once an employee actually starts working.

This may be a sign that the members of your work team are not all on the same page. In order to get everybody back on track, it may be time for you to arrange an opportunity for everyone to be brought up to speed. If possible, consider bringing everyone together in a single meeting to address everything all at once. If this isn’t possible, then mass communication may be your best chance to spread the word. 

However, while this may work for more general information, this may not be appropriate for more specific topics of conversation. Perhaps you have to speak to specific people about their individual performance, or inform others of a new tool that another team member has brought to the table. In these circumstances, it would be better to speak with said people in a one-on-one conversation.

It is easy to assume that all of your team members will be entirely honest about their contributions. When The 5 of Pentacles appears in the reversed position, it may be a sign that someone is not being totally honest. They may be hiding something from you, or are otherwise not telling the full truth so as to protect something that they hold dear. This may be a material possession, or even their sense of pride. 

Now is the time to keep your eyes on those around you for any suspicious activity, as treachery can come from any angle. At the same time, the source of the deception you may be facing could also be coming from inside of yourself. Are you lying about how much you can realistically accomplish as a member of this team? Or perhaps you are holding back some sensitive information, afraid that you could potentially incriminate yourself or others. 

If you don’t want to be deceived by those around you, then it is best to hold yourself to the same standard.
