The Tower and Ten Of Swords
The Tower and 10 of swords

The Tower and Ten of Swords cards together – what do they mean?

The Tower and the Ten of Swords are likely one of the most negative duos to rise from the tarot deck, offering a painful era.

Life: Intense change, tragedy, sudden loss

Love: The parting of souls, revelation, release from pain

Career: Stuck in a rut, unable to cope at work, needing to feel inspired

Health: Sudden illness, loss of a loved one, depression

There can be hope, even at the darkest of times. What you see here is a pairing of destruction and loss, but from that is a chance for you to grow once more.

However, take care not to not rush into it. You will gain better karma if you are considerate and attentive to your inner voice.

The Tower Interpretation

The Tower is a chaotic structure of change.

There are moments in your life where you fear upheaval. What if this shift impacts you in ways you are ill prepared for? You panic, having no option but to ride the wave of unfamiliarity with your breath held and your eyes closed. Your white knuckle ride is alive and kicking.

If you pause, just for a moment and open one eye, you might notice something in your surroundings that brings you peace or at the very least reassurance that soon all will be well. Foundational shifts temporarily cause confusion and aren’t suited to those who prefer the quieter, more balanced aspects of life.

Through loss and trauma, you discover a dimension of yourself that never existed afore. You wipe the steam from the mirror, look at your weary eyes and you see a small spark of strength. In endings, you turn the page and begin to write the next chapter. You are your own resurrection.

‘You fall fast from me and into the unknown, but it is there you find your true self’ – The Tower

Ten Of Swords interpretation

The Ten Of Swords hits rock bottom exhaustively.

There you are. You’re feeling desolate. You have reached a dead end and you lay in a ruined heap. I cannot offer you any quick fix solution to this, because we all have to hit rock bottom at some point. What I can say is that the one positive about rock bottom means you can only go up from here. This may only make you feel slightly better though, for now at least.

It feels ominous, I know. It seems as if ‘this is just your life from now on’ but what I love about this card is the sun rising in the distance. Do you see it? Can see you sense brightness in your own horizon? If you don’t, you will and if you do, focus on that one spark of light in an otherwise desolate time.

You may see two souls parting ways. If this causes you sadness, know that it will eventually ebb to make way for new beginnings. If you have recently lost your job or failed an exam, have faith in the knowledge that there are other jobs and other ways to feel success. Sometimes, it has to rain in order to see a rainbow. I believe in you.
